Life doesn’t always go as planned
An inspiring story from blogger: Mom With No Plan
Before becoming mother, when I thought of the saying "Life doesn't always go according to plan." I thought of times when my car has broken down, my relationships that haven't worked out, or the job that I wanted I didn't get. I didn't I think it would mean finding out I was pregnant than having a baby two days later.
Yes, you read that right. One weekend in February 2021 I went from childless woman to mother all in about 48 hours. Nothing could have prepared me for going to doctor complaining of stomach pains and finding out I was pregnant.
No one could have readied me when I went to the ER hours later and was told I was 35 weeks pregnant. Even though my family, friends, my significant other/daughter's father were beacons of support it was a lot. It still is a lot.
I didn't expect motherhood to change me as much as it has. There has been so much the parenting books that I frantically read did not prepare me for. I have laughed, cried, and screamed into pillows. My respect for parents has increased tenfold. I never doubted parenting would be hard but I was not ready for just how hard it could be.
But therapy has helped. Blogging is helping. Social media is an unexpected source of laugher and genuine people who are showing me I am not alone.
My daughter's birthday will be here very soon. She is healthy and a handful. I am still amazed how she has gone from this tiny baby to a busy 11 month old. Every day brings something different and keeping up with her is still a work in progress. Some days are harder than others but I love every day spent with her.
Life doesn't always go according to plan and sometimes the results bring a little bundle of joy.
